Singing to my 14-month-old daughter is something I particularly enjoy doing. I try to sing in English as much as I can, which is really easy because most of my favorite songs are in English. I remember the very first months after she was born, when she wouldn't fall asleep in the nights and I would try to calm her down by singing pop classics...
These days I'm into nursery rhymes. I got a book and a CD featuring "Jack and Jill", "Humpty Dumpty", etc. I play the CD, sing out loud and show my baby the beautiful illustrations in the book.
English being a minority language here, it is important that we provide our daughter with as much input as possible. Music is great input and it's fun.
I think it's great that you are singing to your daughter in English, as well as all the other things you are doing. Kaya has started singing with me lately, in German, and it's really made a big difference for me in knowing that it's so helpful for her. I used to use a lot of songs to teach my students, too, and the songs would always get stuck in their heads. Singing is DEFINITELY the way to go.
